Cesca & Ozzy joining from Hove around 5:30pm — rendezvous at Patio or head straight to Bison. Ben's running a half marathon that morning so he'll be very ready for a taco and a sit-down.
Kick off at noon. DJ Steelza Wheelz on the decks, great local bands, face painting, and Ditch Brisket BBQ stacked with burgers. Ale and cider from the off. Proper neighbourhood energy — the perfect Rats warm-up.
Preston Street goes full fiesta. Taco and sweetcorn rib party, oyster shots, ceviche, plenty of tequila. Live Mariachi band building through the afternoon. Fuel stop — get a margarita in, but keep an eye on the clock.
This is the tricky one — Patio closes at 6pm on Sundays, so timing matters. Leave Halisco by 3:15, walk up to Surrey Street, and you've got a solid 90 minutes. Rotating guest chefs, natural wines, small plates, proper vibes. Sunday deal on — get the most of it. Be out by 5:30 at the latest to make the walk to Bison in good time.
DJ Lawson on the decks right on the seafront at Madeira Drive. Arrive around 5:30, get a beer in, let the music do the work. Low tide hits at 7:06pm — if the conditions are kind, the sand will be out and the light will be something. Cesca and Ozzy rolling in from Hove can head straight here. The Rats regroup.
The evening low tide coincides with the tail end of DJ Lawson's set. If the sky plays ball, low tide at 7:06pm with sunset following at 8:25pm is a genuinely good window to be on that beach. Worth being at Bison in time for it regardless of the forecast — it's the right place to end the day.
